Chatuchak weekend market

Chatuchak (jatujak) weekend market is a huge market complex about 20 km north of Bangkok, Thailand.

Over the years it has established quite a reputation among both tourists and thais as a great place for handmade craft supplies, as well as fashion accessories, clothes, pets, ceramics, tools, and garden equipment and plants.

It is quite easy to get there from central Bangkok with either the skytrain (Mo Chit station) or underground (Kamphaengphet or Suan Chatuchak station), which meet at Chatuchak. Either way, it is a short walk to the market, but after that, its always a long walk, because the market is huge (35 acres), and labyrinthine, really a bit like a maze, as if designed that way! I have been visiting Chatuchak  market for 19 years, and still do not fail to get lost at least once every time I go there. The layout is something like half of a  hexagon, but the basic fact of the matter is that you will get lost! So enjoy a random stroll, and you will be delighted by the huge range of craft supplies at reasonable prices! Ceramics, wood articles, spa products, jewelry craft supplies, garden ornaments, cutlery, pets, (pangolins…. you want?)

Easycraft.com was more or less inspired by chatuchak, though nowadays we source closer to the sources, usually from upcountry Thailand, in order to keep our craft supplies at competitive prices. If you are a crafter planning a trip to Thailand, be sure to allow a weekend for a trip to Chatuchak weekend market….  and… er…. bring a VERY big suitcase!
